• It’s Always Sunny in 52—Best Bros Forever, Booster Gold (played by Bradley Cooper) and Blue Beetle (Ryan Gosling) take advantage of the disappearance of Batman and Superman by scamming on chicks—both metahuman, alien, and otherwise— at the hot bars in Metropolis and Gotham.  Booster’s methods for gettin’ the ladies most often rely on his fame in the future. This never tends to work, because even ladies who can time-travel would hesitate to believe that a guy like Booster could ever be likeable in any time period. There to nurse Booster (and his ego) through all the rejections, is the ever reliant wing-man (no pun intended) Blue Beetle.  Beetle often plays the role of the smart, sensitive buddy to Booster’s egotistical ladies’ man. The two together work together and overcome adversities ranging from feelings of inadequacy in comparison to other superheroes, to battling constant rejections from Fire and Ice at the prospect of a foursome. 

• Men About Town—Steve and Thor just can’t seem to get anything right in this place they call New York City, circa 2012. For starters, Thor can’t seem to understand why this meddlesome contraption Middlegardians call a “microwave” only seems to heat his food on the outside, leaving the middle of his delicious, crusted food-pocket of pork meat and cheese as frozen as a frost giant’s backside! Meanwhile, Steve has just been introduced by Tony of the wonders of a thing called “the Internet.” Things go well at first, but then when Steve attempts to “Google” his name, his search for knowledge goes awry. Suddenly Steve has adopted an entire new and modern lexicon, complete with new and scary words such as “fan-fiction,” “‘ship,” and “raging member.” These two Avengers have been through it all: Nazis, vengeful demigod step-brothers, Super-Nazis, Destroyers. But can they survive the toughest challenge of all—the 21st century?!

• Mr. Namor, I Do Believe You’re Trying to Seduce Me (UK title: The Sub-Graduate)— Namor, mutant prince of Atlantis (Zachary Quinto) is going to fuck your wife. No, no—you don’t have a say in the matter. It’s going to happen. Just accept it. That’s it. That’s the entire film. It’s just an hour and a half of Namor fucking everyone in the Marvel universe’s wives. 

So there you have it. Some of the superhero films I’d like to see. Inspired by riveting conversations with Jenny while bored at work at Southern Fried Comics. Boredom is the best inspiration, you guys.
